It is a large hardscape project that includes a 1000 square feet paver patio area, over 100 feet of walls and two custom stair cases leading from the patio down to the existing lawn. We will be working on this one for the next couple of weeks...

All of the footings for the walls and columns have been dug. We will follow with landscape fabric a several layers of compacted gravel for our base.

The base course of wall block goes in...

And up we go!

This section of wall is complete.

Thank you DeWALT for building an awesome job site radio...it makes the insane heat we've worked in the last several days seem not as hot...at least I keep telling myself that.

The customer asked us to design a landscape that was not typical...something different, even contemporary and artistic you could say. So, we got to be a bit more playful with the design here than usual...which we love.

We are using irregular flagstone to build a two level patio and fire pit. The space will be covered by a custom pergola. We plan on knocking this project out in the next couple of days...more to come!

Below is our blank slate. This type of site is what we like to start with...no overgrown plant material or old hardscape to remove, just layout the design and start digging!

The pergola has arrived and is going up. We have to get out of the way until it is complete, then, it's our turn again. The decorative bases for each post will be removed temporarily so we can anchor the posts to the footings we poured a couple days earlier. Once we finish the patio, the bases will be installed permanently and the project will be complete.

We have a few more pieces of stone to fit and level along with some final tweaking of the stone border and we are done with another one!

We filled in an existing, unused water garden/fish pond with gravel and built a flagstone patio in it's place.

Natural stone steps that lead from the patio down to the pool area.

We removed an entire existing landscape including random hardscape elements and will be installing a paver patio and stacked stone wall.

This is what we started with...

All the vegetation, stone and brick has been removed and the excavation for the patio is underway.

Five inches of dirt is gone and gravel and fabric are going in.

After the gravel has been thoroughly compacted, aluminum paver edging is installed and the tumbled flagstone wall goes up.

The pavers are going in...

We have started to make the cuts. There will be over 300 hundred before we finish...but it will be well worth the effort. Next we will sweep polymeric sand into the joints, compact one final time with our plate compactor, clean up and enjoy another completed project and happy customers. On to the next one!

I set out broccoli transplants a few weeks ago and planted several short rows of peas. They all seem to be doing great and are loving the cool mornings and evenings. Also, all of my onion sets have emerged and the lettuce is starting to look stronger.
